Plain-English note: This policy is written to be understandable, but it is not legal advice. We aim to comply with applicable privacy and data security laws that apply to our business and the services we provide.

1) Who We Are (and What RouteProof Is)

NE6 is a Massachusetts limited liability company.

RouteProof may be referenced on our site or in materials as a product concept, initiative, prototype, or NE6-operated environment. RouteProof is not a separate legal entity and is not a DBA. If you interact with anything described as “RouteProof,” it is operated by NE6 and covered by this policy (unless a separate written agreement states otherwise).

2) What This Policy Covers

This policy applies to information we handle in connection with:

  • Our websites and online properties (including llc.ne6.us and related NE6 sites)
  • Contact and support channels (email, forms, messages, phone, social media)
  • Professional services (planning, design, development, consulting, implementation, support)
  • NE6-operated tools, portals, prototypes, or hosted environments (if any are provided to you)

This policy does not cover third-party websites, services, or platforms you access through links from our site (see Section 18).

3) Our Privacy Roles: “Controller” vs “Processor/Service Provider”

Depending on the relationship, NE6 may handle information in different roles:

A) When NE6 acts as a Controller

NE6 is typically a controller when we use information for our own business purposes, such as:

  • Operating our websites
  • Responding to inquiries
  • Managing clients and vendors
  • Billing and administration
  • Marketing and business development (where permitted)
  • Security and legal compliance

B) When NE6 acts as a Processor / Service Provider

NE6 may process information on behalf of a client/customer (for example, content, files, records, or data a client provides for a project or environment). In those cases, the client/customer typically decides what data is processed, how it’s used, and how long it’s kept—subject to the applicable contract and law.

If you use NE6 services through an organization (employer, client, or account owner), that organization may control your data and requests (see Section 13).

4) Information We Collect

We collect information in three main ways:

A) Information you provide to us

This may include:

  • Name, email, phone number, company, job title/role
  • Messages, inquiry details, and communications content
  • Project information you choose to share (requirements, notes, attachments)
  • Billing contact info and invoicing details
  • Files, documents, images, or other materials you provide
  • Any information you submit through forms or intake workflows

B) Information collected automatically (website and security data)

When you visit our sites, we may collect:

  • IP address and approximate location (derived from IP)
  • Device, browser, and operating system info
  • Referring/exit pages, pages viewed, timestamps, interaction data
  • Security and diagnostic logs (to detect abuse and protect systems)

C) Payment information (processed by third parties)

If you pay NE6, payment card details are generally processed by a third-party payment processor (for example, Stripe). NE6 typically receives limited payment-related details (e.g., billing name, status, date, amount, confirmation, and sometimes last four digits) and generally does not store full payment card numbers.

5) How We Use Information

We use information for purposes such as:

  • Providing and administering our services and projects
  • Communicating with you (including responding to requests)
  • Operating, maintaining, and improving our websites and workflows
  • Billing, invoicing, recordkeeping, and account administration
  • Security, fraud prevention, abuse detection, and incident response
  • Business operations (including internal analytics and performance)
  • Marketing communications (where permitted; you can opt out)
  • Compliance with legal obligations and enforcing agreements

We aim to use data-minimization principles: collecting and retaining what is reasonably necessary for the specific purpose.

6) Cookies, Analytics, and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate our sites, remember preferences, enhance performance, and understand usage. For details, see our Cookie Notice.

Where required by law, we will provide cookie consent controls for non-essential cookies and allow you to manage preferences.

7) AI / Automation Tools

NE6 may use AI-assisted or automated tools to support operations (for example: drafting internal notes, summarizing communications, organizing workflows, or improving productivity).

Our baseline commitments:

  • No surprise training: We do not use client-provided confidential materials or “Customer Data” to train public, generalized models by default.
  • Transparency + controls if that changes: If we introduce AI features that involve broader training uses of Customer Data, we will clearly disclose it and provide appropriate controls/choices where required by law or contract.
  • Vendor involvement: AI/automation vendors may process data in multiple jurisdictions under their own privacy policies and contractual terms. We work to use reputable providers and apply reasonable safeguards.

If you have project-specific restrictions (example: “no AI tools used on this project”), contact us and we can address it through written scope and handling requirements.

8) How We Share Information

We may share information in these situations:

A) Service providers (vendors)

We share information with vendors who help us operate (hosting, email, analytics, security, payments, support tooling). Vendors may only process information for NE6’s purposes and under contractual protections.

B) Client-directed processing

When NE6 is processing data on behalf of a client/customer, we share/handle data as needed to provide the service and as instructed by the client, consistent with the applicable agreement.

C) Legal, safety, and compliance

We may disclose information if we believe it is necessary to:

  • Comply with law or lawful requests
  • Protect rights, safety, and security of NE6, clients, users, or the public
  • Prevent fraud, investigate abuse, or address security incidents

D) Business transfers

If NE6 is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction subject to reasonable safeguards.

We do not sell personal information in the conventional sense. If applicable law defines certain disclosures as “sale” or “sharing,” we will provide opt-out mechanisms where required.

9) Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for:

  • The purposes described in this policy
  • Providing services and maintaining business records
  • Legal, tax, accounting, and compliance obligations
  • Security, fraud prevention, and dispute resolution

Retention periods vary by context (website visitor vs. client vs. vendor). Where NE6 processes Customer Data on behalf of a client, retention is generally governed by the client’s instructions and the applicable agreement.

10) Security

We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. Security measures may include access controls, least-privilege practices, logging/monitoring, and reasonable protective processes appropriate to the sensitivity of the data we handle.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; however, we work to maintain safeguards consistent with our risk profile and applicable requirements.

11) Marketing Preferences and Communications

You can opt out of marketing emails at any time (unsubscribe link or contact us at contact@ne6.us).
We may still send non-marketing communications related to services, billing, security notices, or administrative updates.

12) Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live and the nature of our relationship, you may have rights to:

  • Access information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion (subject to legal/contractual exceptions)
  • Receive a copy/portability of certain data where applicable
  • Opt out of certain processing (for example, targeted advertising where applicable)
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising rights (where applicable law provides)

How to submit a request: email contact@ne6.us with the subject “Privacy Request.”
We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.

13) Accounts Managed by Organizations

If you interact with NE6 services through an organization (e.g., your employer or a client account owner), that organization may control your data. In many cases, you must submit requests to the organization first, and NE6 will support the organization as required.

14) U.S. State Privacy Notices (General)

Some U.S. states provide additional privacy rights. NE6 will respond to valid requests based on applicable state law, residency, and the context of our relationship with you.

If you believe you are covered by a state privacy law request, contact contact@ne6.us.

15) International Visitors

NE6 is U.S.-based. If you access our sites or services from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other locations where NE6 or its service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

16) Children’s Privacy

Our sites and services are intended for a general audience and for business/professional use. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact contact@ne6.us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

17) Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be posted on this page.

18) Third-Party Links

Our sites may link to third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this one. We recommend reviewing third-party privacy policies before providing information to them.
